The Girl in the Bathtub, the new FX show from FX and Fox, will feature a fictionalized version of the famous character and is being developed as a limited series, FX president John Landgraf said in a statement.
Landgrain called the show “a fun, original take on one of television’s most enduring icons.”
It will debut in 2019, according to FX, which has not yet announced a premiere date.
Landgaurd said the show will focus on a single mother, who is living in a bathtub in Los Angeles.
The new show is the latest installment in FX’s Girls, which is the network’s second-most-watched original series behind Girls creator Jenni Konner’s upcoming pilot.
The series also has a strong track record, landing two Emmys and one Golden Globe nomination, as well as a Grammy for best comedy series.
