The newborn baby who has been found in a bathtub and a baby carrier has a birth canal, according to a newborn bathtubs expert.
“She’s having a really good baby,” said the expert who has trained baby walkers and other volunteers in New York and Washington, D.C., to help deliver babies.
“She’s definitely not pregnant, and she’s a very healthy baby.”
The baby was found after someone called police to report a suspicious infant sitting in the bathtub.
The baby had been in the tub for two days, said Nancy Miller, who is the director of New York City’s Baby Walkers, a group of volunteer mothers and volunteers who walk newborns.
“I would say the baby is about two weeks old,” Miller said.
“The baby has not eaten or had any problems since they got here.”
The police department said the baby was unresponsive when officers arrived at the home.
The baby was taken to an area hospital for observation.
Police said they were working to determine if the baby has had any medical issues.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
