Ohio (11-6, 4-4 Big Ten) will host Iowa State (10-6) on Saturday.
The Red Raiders won the last two meetings in Columbus.
The Cyclones scored 20 unanswered points in the third quarter and pulled away in the final seconds.
Ohio is shooting 57.6 percent from the field and is 3 of 10 from 3-point range.
Iowa State shot 54.7 percent, including 10 of 19 from 3.
The Hawkeyes will be without forward Nate Britton (concussion) for the game.
Britton is averaging 16.8 points on 37.3 percent shooting over his last three games.
“We got to be smart about our play,” Hawkeyes coach Fran McCaffery said.
“If we go into that third quarter with confidence, then we can beat anybody.”
Iowa State had been 0-3 against Iowa in the series, including a 98-94 loss on Dec. 3.
Iowa has lost three straight games against Ohio State.
